Uploading your Web Pages and Images
For Windows users, we have found WS_FTP
to be a very easy to use. The following steps illustrate how
to connect to the web server using WS_FTP. |

The first step is to define properties of the session:

1. Click 'New' to create a new profile.
2. For Profile Name you may enter whatever you like.
3. The Host Name is the web server's name or IP Address. For
your personal webspace, use 65.202.119.6
4. The user ID is the same as you connect to the Internet with
and the password is the same one you connnect with also.
5. Finally, click "Apply" and then "OK."
Step Two, Connecting
1. Press the connect button to connect.
2. Once the connection has been made from your computer to the
web server, you will see a two-column window.
3. The left side displays the files on your computer, while
the right side displays the files on the webserver. |

To upload files to the web server, simply select the file on
your computer. (left side) and click the right-facing arrow.
Your file should now be loaded on the web server. Your webpages
should go into the public_html folder to be visible on the web.
5. Similarly, to download a file from the web server, select
the file on the right side and click the left facing arrow.
Multiple files can be selected for upload/download by holding
down the shift key. Note: Ensure that files are upload in the
correct format (ASCII for web pages and CGI scripts, binary
for images and other non-text files). WS_FTP does have the option
of automatically selecting the mode of transfer. |
