How to Create & Configure A Dial-Up Networking Connection

1. Adding the VisionSix Internet connection
A. From your desktop, double-click My Computer.
B. Double-click the Dial-Up Networking folder.
C. Double-click Make New Connection.

D. Enter a name for the connection (for example: VisionSix).
E: Select your modem in the drop down menu.
F: Click Next.

Enter your local VisionSix access number
Examples:
763-7129 (if you live in an area without ten digit dialing,
like Lincoln or Pell City)
205-763-7129 (The 256 Area, if you have to dial 205 before
763 to call Lincoln)
G. Click Next, and then Finish. |

Configuring the VisionSix connection
- Open My Computer > Dial-Up Networking
- Highlight the VisionSix connection then click File
Menu > Properties
- On the Properties window, click on Server Type.
- In the Advanced Options you should only have software
compression checked. In the Allowed Network Protocols
section , you should have only TCP/IP option checked.

3. How to sign on and off using VisionSix
Internet connection
Generally you should only have to click on Internet Explorer
and it will ask you to 'Connect' Use the Username and password
for your account. Need to sign up?
Sign up online
To disconnect, click on the computer icon in the lower-right
of your Windows 95/98 Task Bar.
